    • Always read the project sheet in full before starting your cake!
    • To make your own modelling paste, add a little tylo to your fondant.
    • Allow the modelling paste shapes to sit and firm up for a short time before attaching to your cake.
    • If your modelling paste is sticking to your tools or mat use your FMM Dab-a-Dust.

To Make The Gingerbread House Christmas Cake

    • Roll out ginger modelling paste and cut out 4 of the bird house style shapes (cutter 1), 3 of the house shapes (cutter 2) and 2 side panels (cutter 4). Put 2 of bird house stye shapes (cutter 1) to one side to dry completely. Allow the others to sit for a while to firm up.
    • Roll out the ginger modelling paste and place the brick wall effect impression mat on top and apply pressure with your hand to emboss the modelling paste. Cut out 2 panels using cutter 3 from the FMM more than a Bird House cutter set. Put them to one side for 24 hours to dry completely.
    • Roll out ginger modelling paste and cut out 2 train engines, 2 passenger carriages and 2 cargo carriages.
    • Roll out red modelling paste and cut out 2 large circles and 8 small circles using your train cutter set.
    • Roll out brown modelling paste in a long strip. Use your FMM Knife and Scriber Tool to give it a straight edge. Using the FMM Frill cutter set cut out a frilled edge for each of the 3 house shapes on your cake. Then roll out a strip of red modelling paste and cut out a frilled edge for each of the 3 bird house shapes. This also includes the one we will be using as your cake topper. Refer to the cake photograph for the frilled edge shapes.
    • Attach the red frill to the bird house shapes and the brown frill to the house shapes. Leave the frill for the topper to dry with the other cake topper cut outs.
